Using Wireless Mobile Utility

I'm playing with getting my D7200 connected to my Android phone. I keep getting the message "This NFC tag is empty. To write info on it, download an applicable app from Google Play Store". After trying many times, it will eventually connect. Does anyone have any idea what's up or how to get it to consistently connect?

I'm not an Android guy, but the NFC message is interesting. Do you have wireless enabled on the D7200 and is the phone connected to the 7200's wireless network before launching WMU?

Wi-Fi is on, but it's my understanding that you don't have to manually connect to it. When it finally comes up it asks if it should connect. Maybe I'll try that.

I'm a little concerned the camera is defective.

I think I figured out what is going on. I think I'm getting the tag error when the camera goes into sleep mode, or whatever Nikon calls it when you have the camera on but don't push anything for a while.

Your camera isn't defective, I have the same issue and once I push the info button or something it works fine.
