For me, I would have liked to see the whole monument. Also, the main focal point of the flowers blends in with the busy background. Maybe move the point of view so the main flowers have the water or plain sky as the background. Overall, I like the idea of the shot.

Agree with above - would have definitely composed so that the whole monument is in shot and also tried to get a more plain background behind the blossoms. Maybe even up the vibrancy and clarity a tad to make them pop.

Appreciate the feedback. Here's the basic file of what I first tried with a portrait shot. I thought it meh and that's when I went landscape to bring the blossoms in. Looking back and considering your inputs, I think a better position would have been to get lower and more eye level to the geese, bringing the blossoms closer to the sky as background.

Yeah it's always hard to get a natural setting to be perfectly composed. Your idea of getting lower is sound though.
