Personally, i really enjoyed this post by Dan Bailey. What really attracted me to this post, was the photo of all his DSLR equipment sitting on the counter of his local camera shop. Right away, it reminded me of myself. That photo resembles my DSLR equipment - minus a camera and a few lenses - when i traded in all of my DSLR gear.
Of course, this is a very personal post by Dan and is a reflection of what many other photographers are doing.
