D3300 problems

hi, im new here so please bear with me and forgive me if im duplicating or posting in the wrong place.

seem to have a few problems with my D3300,

the other day i was taking smoe pic using my 50mm prime lens when all of a sudden every photo just came up blank (black screen). would only activate shutter like it was on a long shutter release. put standard 18-55 back on and would only work in auto !!
reset the camera now i can get it to work for short periods both in manual and auto,, but occasionally half the pic is underexposed.

am i doing something wrong or is the camera at fault.

Nevermnd... Having re-read your post I'm wondering now if you have a sticky shutter... Some pics would help.

Sounds like a sticky shutter to me too. It may just need a good cleaning, depending on how much you've used it and in what environment, but if it's still fairly new, perhaps a return for a new unit?

Can you please post the particular equipment that you are using (ie lens description).

There may be pertinent information that you are not providing, which would help us help you.
