The Duck that never will be

Found it on the grass with no nearby nest to put it in.

Careful there! I found an egg in my yard that looked something like a chicken egg except the outer shell was definitely thicker and of a different texture. I wondered if it was a turtle egg and gave it to a neighbor who owned turtles. I don't believe it ever hatched so have no clue as to what it was.

My father would have eaten it,good job they dont all hatch and survive we would be knee deep in mallards

One too many neers before you posted, or so it might appear. I thought maybe it was a beaver floating with the ducks or a duck building a dam.
