First attempts with the 5300 and the 50-200 lens.

Are you using single focus point as any thing else could get confused in the first situation.

I'm not sure to be honest Mike, I'm still struggling with all the options on this camera. I need a ten year old to teach me!

Thanks for the suggestion Dave, I have found a couple of videos that helped and I just purchased a DVD "Crash course for the Nikon D5300". Without a challenge life would be sooooo boring!
