setup recommendation for FX to shoot macro?

What do you recommend in the way of lens and such for macro on a D700? I ask this out of curiosity more than need really, since I love my D700 so much!

I have a Nikkor AF 105mm micro d lens. Would a Nikkor AF 200mm micro d lens make up the difference of the FX vs the DX D300 without the need for heavy cropping?

I don't much care for extension tubes. So maybe an upgrade in lens?

What lenses do you have? And have you read none of my posts regarding macro? I use FX you know

If you want to get closer to your subject with out cropping add a raynox dcr-250 to the end of your 105

Yeah that close up lens will add 2.5x to your existing 105, which should last you awhile. Message me when you have any questions about getting light to your subject lol

It will be a while before I'll be able to get a raynox. But I'm not in a hurry.lol

Another thing you can try is the Canon 500d filter. I use it on my 70-200 lens. Works pretty good.
