How come my screen/videos look brighter than my pictures?

Hey Everyone,

I just got a nikon 3200D the other week and I'm fairly new to photography. I was wondering why images seem to look so much brighter on my viewfinder screen than how they look as photos once they're taken, mainly referring to inside images (without flash of course). The pictures just seem unusually dark, even with the f-stop as open as it can go. Is there a way to match the two up accurate? Or maybe I'm missing a setting it should be on to get brighter images? The lighting is only standard florescent lighting but it's still a well-lit basement so I'm surprised it's as dark as it is, my phone for example would take a much brighter picture.

Also, videos seem to match up with what the screen is showing me (they're brighter).
