I just wanted to pop in and give a little background.
I am new to DSLR's and just picked up my first what ill call nice camera, a Nikon D5300. Previously I always had point and shoots other than one basic film camera I used in a black and white photography class in college. Before getting this one my experience was very limited and auto was my normal setting. I had a Sony DSC-V1 which was I think an attempt at a better point and shoot that gave me some manual settings. My day job is a owner/ operator of a small calibration lab and I also do thermal inspections using a Flir camera. The mindset I have for the lab makes me want to squeeze out the best I can in what I do with what I have so here I am.
Hopefully Ill get to a point where I can contribute but for now I've just been drawing in all the info yall have put out there and its already been helpful.
I look forward to seeing yall on the forums,
Major
