Phase One has announced a Digital Asset Manager (DAM) tool called Media One. By all appearances it seems to be a direct competitor for Lightroom. I haven't tried it - yet - but personally I'm glad to see another competitor. One thing I noticed straight away is that it supports both Windows and OS X. Since I use both platforms, that is very important to me.
