Hi guys
I just bought my better half a P-600 to get her interested in my hobby She dosen't want to carry a heavy DSLR. Do any of you have any tips, short cuts, or pit falls using one of these. I did find a 52mm filter that will work, but no hood, any thoughts on that? Thanks in advance for your help.

The Coolpix series is meant to be easy to use, and while the P600 looks a little like a DSLR that's about where the similarities end. Don't worry about accessorizing too much, just tell her to go out, have fun and shoot.

The only tip I have for her/you is to be careful on the extreme zooms. You still have to have a lot of light to get a good shot. If not enough light it is easy to get movement in the shot.

Great beginner camera.
Pros: Huge zoom, great quality images, vari-angel screen.
Cons: Slow focus
Great point-and-shoot camera. Definitely recommend. I don't have any accessories for it, it's fine by itself!
Here's some images on my blog which I've taken. Victoria's Wildlife Blog
