It would be a fantastic upgrade from the D3100!

what is the shutter count?

I just upgraded to the D7000 from a D3200. NO REGRETS!! Love it! Got mine as a body, all accessories and boxes, and a 70-300mm G for $525. Mine had less than 5K clicks. Could not pass it up. And when the next level comes out and the D7100 prices fall again, I'll be ditching the 3200 and picking up the 7100.

If it is a low shutter count and it is really in mint condition it sounds pretty good. The 18-140 is a great lens. I shoot it on my D7100. I also have a D7000 and it is a good camera. I started off with a D3100 and the D7000 is a large leap forward. A bit of a learning curve but well worth it.
