Iconic landmarks in Roanoke VA.

I was born in Roanoke....drtnking Diet Dr. Pepper these days! I remember the sign though....and the Mill Mountain Star! I would tell you about a little fun I had one night up there, where my butt got cold, but I better not!

When I drove over the road, I used to go down I-581 and then Hwy 220 to get down to Greensboro NC. Nice drive.

I'll be starting my Blue Ridge Parkway trek around Roanoke. I'll look for that sign. So far, I have 54 photo stops to make while heading south.

We just drove through Roanoke yesterday on our way to a neighborhood reunion in Troutville. You do remember the scales there, right, Blacktop?? We had a great time catching up on all the nieghborhood kids we grew up with!
