D7100 Metering

Is it typical for different Nikon camera models to meter a scene differently? Specifically, my D7100 meters exactly one stop under what my D80 meters for the exact same image (same tripod position, same lighting, same lens). This occurs with both JPEG and RAW settings. Thanks to all who can help!

I would not expect one stop, if all is the same. That would seem essentially unusable in one of the cameras. :)

I would expect a difference in the selected metering methods, or the lens view, or ISO, or some forgotten compensation, etc.

Also (maybe not in Raw, but) white balance and contrast and color profile (like Vivid) can give a different brightness result.
