I'm not the most technical guy in the world, so here goes, does anyone know if I can use my Nikon R1C1 on a Canon T3i with MP-E 65mm macro? And safely?

I thought I heard someone say you could damage the contacts(?)

And how to do this?? Something about 'Manual' mode?

Pardon my ignorance

Thanks!

Yes but only in manual mode. When mounting the flash the center contact will line up and it'd that contact point that tells the flash to fire. Not even sure of a radio trigger will allow the ttl system to work. My guess is no. Seagull makes an adapter for using Nikon flash on Canon. Seagull SC-7 adapter. The systems between Canon and Nikon are different in how they communicate.

Much thanks to both of you!!

I just now read that section of the manual Wayne, you couldn't have made it easier giving me page numbers!

And I just bought the 'Seagull SC-7 Nikon Flash to Canon Hot Shoe Adapter' and am now looking for 'cheap' Nikon SC-30 cords, $64 seems to be the cheapest, for genuine Nikon from B & H or E-Bay.

Thanks Again gentlemen!
