Best Walkabout Lens

Hi everyone, though that this might be a good thread to start, I almost always have a Sigma 28-200mm lens stuck on the front of my camera, it very rarely gets swapped for anything else. Although price played a big part in its purchase (£60) it is a very good attempt at a do everything lens good range of zoom, decent glass, decent focus etc and as such is a great walkabout lens. If you were heading out and only taking 1 lens what would be your walkabout?

So far I am LOVING my Nikon 17-55 2.8.....i can see this lens pretty much never leaving my camera. It doesn't have the long range, but for what i need and shoot, its perfect.

I'm finding myself using the wide end of my lenses most of the time. I'm thinking of getting the 16-85 which for me may be the best walkabout lens.

I mostly use two for walk about, my 28-105mm & 18-135mm.
I am heading to Sweden in April and I think I will take my D7000/18-135mm.
Kick about camera as well (Canon G10).
