LCD Jpeg Display

Does anyone know, what is the resolution of the jpeg image displayed on the LCD screen after the shot? Is it the same resolution as the recorded image? What if you are recording RAW (NEF) only?

The monitor LCD screen is smaller, 640x480 pixels on the D5200. The embedded JPG in the NEF file appears to be Large Basic JPG, at least that is what a couple of extraction tools extract. I assume any JPG file is shown directly, because it (and the NEF JPG) can be zoomed tremendously.

I think that the jpeg is down sized to fit the monitor. The resolution increases progressively as you zoom it in. One thing I have noted, is that the IQ of the display is not all that great, and at least in my D3300 the IQ at maximum magnification is full of artifacts. One step below is much better.
