D7k killed my SD card.

D7k killed my SD card.
Had two cards, they were workin' fine. One day I formatted them both and one was killed.
DOA. Anyone have this problem? Did I do something wrong to kill it?
Brand new camera. Help!!!

I had that same problem and thought the card was defective but then I realized that the D7000 formatted bad.
I had to take those what seem to be damaged cards to my PC and reformatted. Once that was done I put the cards back in the camera and they worked. Just make sure you have a good supply of PC formatted cards.

If the camera formatted them bad, then I would want Nikon to address that problem. And as Qecho said, reformat your cards in your PC for now.

By the way, what cards are you using?

I use mainly Sandisk extremes card but I have a few generics as well. But the problem exist with any card.
Nikon suffered some damage during the earth quake so it may take them some time to get a fix for this.
I wish that all the survivors from the earthquake find peace in their time of need.

Too bad. Nikon should address that problem ASAP!
The D7000 is selling like hotcakes.
