P7000 Viewfinder & Focus Ring

Is there a way for one to view the focus ring/squares in the optical viewfinder of the Coolpix P7000?

Or are they only visible on the LCD screen?

No, you only get that info' on the rear LCD screen, the P7100 I have is the same, you get no information in the viewfinder apart from the image your looking at ....
