D5200 compatibility with older manual lenses

Hi

I have D5200 and want to find out if i can use a Nikkor 500mm F8 reflex/mirror lens (C series) on this body. I realise that (IF it does fit) focus will be manual, but will I be able to use the metering, albeit in Manual Exposure mode?

Thanks for any guidance.

That seems a very hard question. I cannot answer.

But see this more complete Nikon link about lenses compatible with D5200:
http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16436/kw/D5000/r_id/116678

Still seems hard.

There were two 500mm f/8 reflex lenses. One in 1969 and one in 1982.
Here is a writeup:
Nikon Imaging | NIKKOR - The Thousand and One Nights / Tale 13 : Reflex-Nikkor 500mm f/8

The second one was said to be much better. The old one is available pretty cheap. But the point, to be AI compatible, it seems AI began in 1977. I'm not sure how that applies to a reflex lens however.
