Chick fell out of the nest

Three days ago, I noticed the bird sitting bang in the middle of my back yard. On closer inspection I see a new born chick lying next to it. I decided to rehabilitate the chick and succeeded, after a lot of advice from the mother. In the mean time, I have spruced up the chick's home and provided comfort to both the mother and chick. Here is the story :

Don't you dare come closer. I tried to approach to five feet, but she raised a racket at seven.

We found the abandoned nest in the tree above the chair, and put in the box

Mother perched on the chair guarding the chick.
I took a lot of shots as the expression kept changing, while I was watching her from about five feet away.

I put a watermelon scooped and chopped the insides for the mother

Initially it was on the same chair, but it could topple and crush the chick, so we shifted it

Problem is that with so many great pics, which 3 to choose?.

Yes, but between now and the end of June, who knows what else aroy will capture with his camera. ;) He definitely has an opportunity right in his own backyard! :)

The backyard is small 30 feet wide and 20 deep, surrounded by concrete jungle, so chances of diversity is low.

From left the trees are - Papaya, Pomegranate, Lime, Curry leaf and Mango. The bird's nest was in the Mango tree and now the chair is under it.

2014-06-11 : Day 5

The chick is growing fast and has become restless. It is trying to jump around, and in the process has stumbled out of the small box a couple of times. So I cut up a large thick card board box and put the chick, its nest and water in it.

In the morning. Notice the well formed feathers.
