Don't know if this has been answered before but are memory cards for digital cameras in any danger from repeated scanning by airport X-Ray machines? If so, about how many passes thru would be a limit?
The other shoe would, of course, be: do X-Ray machines at all affect the image sensors in digital cameras?

If X-rays did affect digital cameras, there would be a plethora of upset news photographers around the world. So no, I don't think they are affected.

I have had my camera equipment, which included one card in the camera and five or six in card holders in the bag, go through airport security scanning systems a couple dozen times with no detectible effect. Same goes for the camera sensor. I have not heard of any one who has had problems. I never check my equipment. It's always carry-on.
