This fort, which is located on the Naval Air Station in town, dates to 1839. It is quite an interesting place to walk around. This window leads to a powder storage area. The bars were put there by the National Park Service, they are not original. Most of the fort is open but there are still areas which are cordoned off. For as old as this fort is, the lines are still amazingly plumb!
I love the symmetry of this image. The areas where the bricks have chipped adds interest to an otherwise blank white wall. The door and trim are actually a forest green color but I think black and white suits this image a lot better for the graphical effect. Of course I feel that way about most images!
