It depends on what you want to take pictures of. Anything Nikkor will work fine.

I agree with "furious_ideas", the deal is pretty good. It's just that I'm not too fond of that lens since it looses lots of sharpness over f/11. But that's just me.

Since I'm not too rich and if I had 2 lenses to buy, I would go with an 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 for everyday and all around shots and an affordable zoom (since I don't shoot zooms very often so it would be a waist) like a Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 or an older nikkor 70-300 zoom non-cpu. My 2 cent.
CHeers!

I've had a D90 for almost a year, and all i've been using with it was the 18-105. Recently i took a gamble and ordered an old AIS 135mm f2.8 lens from ebay, total cost? $112. It worked great! Took a little getting used to, but i really love what i get for the price! Since then i've ordered a 50mm 1.8 series e and a 70-210F4 AIS. Grand total of $124 for both. I haven't recieved them yet tho.
Most of this set was shot with the 135:

I agree with the 35mm, it's a great lens for the money. I just ordered the 50mm f/1.8, I should receive it this week. I have read it's better for portraits than the 35mm.
