Raptors in the Wild

I was out firing up the grill today and saw this bird fly over head and then land in a dead tree right at the corner of my yard. I grabbed the D90 and shot a bunch of shots. Sun was all wrong though and I am not real happy with what I got. I also cannot identify this bird, at least, not the way the shots came out. I am also having issues seeing my images now that I am using this laptop I got from weebee. Not sure if it is because it is small or the colors are different from my old desktop LCD.

Other peoples photos I see posted here look fine on this screen but these shots looks like they lacked any color at all.

So, what is this bird?

What do the shots look like to you on your monitor?

I just looked through my gallery at some of the photos I have there that are properly exposed. They look fine on this monitor. I just got bad exposure on these bird shots due to the sun being so high.

A Kite huh? The Kite I just looked up has a split tail. This one has a solid tail feather spread.

However, you may be correct.
