Nikon 1 70-300 (810mm)

Anyone planning on getting this? I think it will be an awesome lens, can't wait to see some user shots/reviews.

I'd like one, but for the cost of it. I'll continue to happily shoot with my FT1-70-300 FX.

It's got a sleek, contemporary look about it. Reminds me of a new version of the 70-200 f/2.8. I like the look.

Available next week, will be nice to see some user reviews soon! Some pro reviews are wondering why it is so expensive for an average or "slow" lens. They are not looking at it in perspective to the N1, 810mm FoV at f5.6 is not "average"! How much would that cost on Fx?

I'm starting to read and see some results from users on DPreview. I have to say, so far I am not impressed (and surprised). Looking at what users are posting, I think I got better results with the 70-200 f4 and Ft1 adapter. I have high expectations since it is a $1k lens and optimized for the Cx sensor. These are early results so more time may be needed in the hands of users.
