This was my first attempts to use my new macro lens, I will say there is a learning curve for sure. They are all hand held with no flash.

Great shots. It takes a lot of practice and if you haven't already - dial in the focus of your lens. Macro is so easy to miss the shot that you want to rule out everything you can thus leaving only ourselves to blame when we screw it up LOL.

Focus can be adjusted in your camera. Do a quick search on YouTube. There are programs that can be purchased or you can do it yourself with even a set of staggered batteries.

I was looking at Focus Tune. What did you use? I tried it with printing something off the internet. I didn't like what i was getting though

I actually used the brick on my father-in-laws house. The brick is vertically finned and evenly spaced. I chalk marked a fin on the brick and shot/made adjustments until I had it dialed in. May be crude, but it worked beautifully.

Definitely a nice job for your first attempt! I can't wait to see what you produce with a little practice. ;)
Scott Murray will enjoy that critter in the third photo!
