Nikon firmware update trend

Hi all
Coming from olympus i only have about 6 months experience with nikon, so not long enough to get a feel for their firmware update tendencies. I have a d7000 and see the last update was april 2013. Do you think we can expect another update soon (if at all)? If yes what changes do you think will be made or more importantly, what changes would you like to see?

Oddly, Nikon has never released a firmware update for my F2.

Firmware updates tend to be to fix errors/bugs, not to enhance features. Want more features, get a new camera. Folks at Magic Lantern and Nikon Hacks will occasionally post firmware hacks to take advantage of whatever can be taken advantage of - like longer video lengths. Don't expect magic after the fact from Nikon.
