Dunno. Why not just get one of these? I imagine it's a fraction of the price and uses the D7100's in-built WiFi receiver. Works fine with mine, although I've never tested the distance.

that doesn't use WiFi... It uses IR (infrared)... which is line-of-sight... and is dodgey in bright light situations...
