Problem with my Nikon D4 and 24mm - 70mm lens

So I have recently bought a Nikon D4 which I have been immensely impressed with it. However, two weeks into using the camera the auto focus function wouldn't engage using the my Nikkon 24mm-70mm lens. I initially thought it was an issue with the camera settings but after spending several hours of "fiddling" and having no luck, I tried it on my 24mm lens. And to my surprise the AF worked brilliantly. Swapped it back to the other lens and the issue occurs again. The 24mm - 70mm lens is also very new so I don't understand whats going on. M/A & AF is all on as should be...anyone got any ideas?

If you could try the lens on another Nikon, it could give you a extra clue. Could be something wrong with the lens or the connections, it's kind of hard to predict and has to be investigated the hard way, isolating one thing at a time. Keep us posted if you ever find out the cause and it's easily fixable.
