Tripod head for macro

I`m in the same boat as kiwi86.

I do not like ballheads for macro, the blocking is insufficiently precise, putting my camera off target, you have to estimate the movement and focus off target to get to your target.

As a second tripod I got a cheap second hand one like this:
Manfrotto-MK-293A-A3RC1.jpg
The head is a rc1 head, I had hoped that the lever gave more precision, but the issue is on the blocking system.

Looking further I came to gear heads:
The Manfrotto 405 Pro Digital Geared Head
This would be the most expensive Manfrotto piece I would have.

The XPRO Geared 3 Way Head would seem sufficient.
Edit: I went to look at it in the shop and it does seem to do the trick, I did not test it with a load on it.

At the moment I`m using my 393 gimbal, which will have to work for me, but can be clumsy.

p.s.: I use a 2 axis focus rail on top of the head and a 293 lens support with a remote trigger, even if there is a lot of movement due to the many parts wind does not move it.
