D3200 photos coming out black

Hey, just bought a D3200 this week. I'm using the 18-55 lens with it. Today I was snapping away at competitors in a comp I was watching when the pictures started to come out black (it had been working fine until then). I've checked back to make sure I hadn't changed anything, I've also reset it, took the battery out and lens off but done no good. Any ideas?

So when you take the pic, it comes out just pure black?

Does the mirror sound like it's working? After you focus and push the shutter button the mirror slaps up. If not it's your mirror.

Take out the lens, put the camera in manual mode, shutter speed 1/10s, turn the camera around and press the shutter. You should be able to see what is happening. If 1/10 is too fast, use 5 seconds. This is a good way to diagnose the camera, by looking at what it is doing. If the mirror doesn't go up, you've got a problem. If the mirror does go up but you don't see the curtain opening, then you have another problem. Whatever your problem is, I think you might have to send the camera for repair. I hope it's still warrantied for you.

Resize the photo to no more than 1000px on the long side and then re-upload it so we can see the exif data. That will tell us a lot about the way you shot it.
