A couple weeks ago on Turnagain arm

Too much RR track? Bad angle? Or ok? Flat light, a few clouds may have been nice.

Bill, it's a good composition, good depth of field, a good sense of depth, I like the blue white balance giving it a sense of cold, but as my scenic photography workshop instructor said without a wow factor or something to create impact it's not that impressive. The eye wanders around the shot looking for something to hold it's interest and it's not there. Perhaps more of an angle down the track with a freight train coming into the shot would give it more impact.

I have to agree with Joseph on this one, Bill. Great overall composition. What I would try is perhaps changing it to sepia, or even black and white. Just something to give the shot visual interest.

I don't know how much of a view change would be involved but have you thought about a sun rise or sun set? A sun rise or sun set over the lake with the mountains on the horizon would be a great shot.
