Depends on the camera. The D800 is a 36 meg camera, D7100 24 meg, D5100 16 meg.

Edit... Just saw this is posted in the D3200 forum. Give me a moment and I will check for you.

And all the number you find will not be correct. It all depends on what you are shooting. Some scenes will take more memory than others. The guidelines you find in the manual are just estimates.

Thank you to everyone who gave me feedback, I had no idea were to even start to figure this out! This was the only question that completely stumped me. So thank you all very much!

I keep the PDF copy of my manual on my computer and tossed the paper one in the recycling. It's easy to ctrl+F for what you're looking for. Putting it on your Kindle is a great idea too, Enduro. You could also use Google Drive or Dropbox or something similar to have it on all your mobile devices whenever you need it.
