I went through the Strobist 101 and the 102 during the summer. Can only recomend. If one wants to really understand (the 102 section has weekly "home-work", so to speak) and really start having results with a speedlight. But, my wife, doesn't like to pose for photos... "Big help" -I tell her- "how am I supose to practice?!". Fortunately, my mother-in-law is a hair-dresser an she has these "busts", a head and a neck that served as model. With blue eyes, but bald!!! You should see the images... But it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot.
