D700 and Nikon 24-70mm f2.8

This lens is always my default combo when covering parties and special events followed by the 70-200mm f2.8.

I recently borrowed my friend's D700 to cover our Christmas Party in one of the Hotels in Tokyo. This old faithful still performs very well since when I first had it about 4 or 5 years ago. I use my Nikon SB 900 bounce flash to soften the light a bit.

Critiques are always welcome.

what was the WB? seems a bit warm to my eyes.

They are slightly warmer at 3900. Maybe 3400 to make it slightly cooler but I prefer them to me slightly warmer since that is the lighting condition based on the incandescent lights. The WB was set in AUTO and adjusted the RAW file via CS5.

I prefer warm also. my friend who I shoot with always complains my photos are too warm. just the brown wood and the warm lighting seems to intensify the warmness.

how the heck did it stay warm after flash use? FEC?

Few things. I use bounce flash, used the built-in white card, tilted slightly enough to illuminate their face, move further back to allow the bounce flash to spread evenly, and make sure the ISO is around or greater than ISO 800 for indoors.
