Built in pop up flash as master flash?

Will the built in pop up flash on the D3100 work as the master flash in a studio set up with slaves?

It can if those other flashes have an su-4 mode. The d3100 does not have any built in flash control.

It's either that or he has to bring donuts to the next meeting!

We use 3000's in class to fire stobes with slaves. We have the students tape off about 95% of the pop up flash, and the remainder is enough to fire the strobes without dumping extra light on subject.
