Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but it will be my last manual time-lapse video. If there is a next time it will be because I've figured out how to use the time-lapse app that will let you set the time intervals and allows you to ramp up and down. If you've been following my 365 thread you'll recognize this view from some of the still's I've posted recently.

It ran from 2:40 to 5:19 PM. I especially like how late the red appears. I was watching other photographers down on the beach getting ready for the sunset and when it looked like it was done, they all started packing up. And then suddenly the whole sky lit up and I could see them all racing to get their gear back out. I've been burned several times by giving up too early only to be driving home and seeing an intense pink sky in my rearview mirror. Not a pretty sight....

Neat, but dont you use the timelapse feature in the D800? You can then speed up or slow down in your video editing software.
I didn't use it because it maxes out at 99 exposures. Or at least I think it does, doesn't it?

Ummm only if you have a very small memory card, be sure to use jpeg though.

I use a timelapse controller got it for 10 dollars works great
