Raw file

Hi Guys
when a shoot in raw format with my d 700 the apple mac states it does not
recognise the file format
Any ideas why

What program are you trying to use to edit/view the files? Most likely you just need to update whichever program to allow your D700 raw files to be read.

I don't know about Apple photo software, but if it is Adobe for Mac, then there are two cases:

If recent Adobe software, you just need a free update to ACR (Adobe Camera Raw), one that knows about the D700 camera.

If older Adobe software, you may need new Adobe software. However the D700 was added in ACR 4.6 for Photoshop CS3 (so that makes pretty old eligible).

Which Mac OS version are you using. And do you have either Aperture or the current version of iPhoto installed? You must have one or the other for Apple's Camera Raw to install to the OS...

update/download the latest update for reading raw images.

Upgrade to Mavericks for free at the App Store and that should solve the problem. There are updates after the initial download.
