Hibiscus feedback

Picture of hibiscus in my front yard I took. I've been working to really try and improve my focusing. I'm not sure I like this one because the flower in front doesn't look as sharp as I want it. I'm guessing I should have increased my fstop. Thoughts?

Nikon d7000, f 2.5, 50 mm 1.8, 200 ISO, 1/2000. Lightroom 4 touchup.

It worked for me. Making it bigger that is.

Now I am not in a position to give advise but it looks to me like the leading edge of the very front petal is out of focus. Not sure if this was intentional or not but it might look better sharper.

The flower in the background is distracting. And the focus should have been on the anthers. Not sure if you were focusing on them but the focus seems to be just behind them.

Also by increasing the aperture, It won't make much differance doing macro work. Being so close to a subject you'll still have a very narrow DOF because you're focusing on something very close.
