Newbie question regarding folders by date

Hi,

Just bought a d7100, is there a way to have images organized automatically into folders by date? For instance if I take photos today can a folder automatically be created for those images taken today. Then a few days from now when I take pictures, same thing happens but a folder for that day is created.

As it is right now there is one folder and all of the images ever taken no matter what the date all fall into that folder.

I am coming from Pentax and canon the default are that a new folder is created each day.

You can use the software that came with your camera (ViewNX2) and use the transfer feature in there and it will create a folder by date and transfer them there. There are a lot of options in doing that so be sure and look at the menu there the first time and set it to do it like you want.

The answer to your question is No. Welcome to Nikonites.

I noticed you added 'viewing' in your second post... You can press the last button on the left side, multiple times until you get to the calendar, and then you can view/select a date to view the images on the card... This is in your manual...
