Low light action pictures

I am using a D90 with a Nikon 28-300 3.5 lens. In football and some basketball pictures I can not get a fast enough shutter speed to prevent blurry pictures. Tried everything I know to do.

What ISO are you shooting at? It might help if you post some examples and include the EXIF data.

Guidelines to adding a photo to your post.

1. Resize photo to 1000px on the long side.
2. Resolution set to 72ppi (Pixels Per Inch)

These guidelines will be good for viewing on a computer but will not be good for printing. This will help safeguard your copyright.

Post up a photo with the exif data so we can see your settings.

Most likely, your ISO is just not high enough to allow for a faster shutter. But it could also be your aperture. Either way, we need and example posted up with the exif.

And welcome.
