Hey everyone!
I just got my 35mm 1.8G (Love this little lens! It's amazing), and this was one of the first shots out of it.
Monet's Eye Fence B&W EDITED LSP.jpg
Nikon D5000-
f1.8
ISO: 200
Shutter- 1/800s
Focal Length- 35mm (Obviously)

It was just a quick fun shot that I liked. There isn't some artistic meaning or anything.
What I'm looking for is overall critique, what I can do better, etc.
How does it look?

I think I understand the intent but it lacks perspective. I think if we saw more of the fence and the subject it would be a better composition and show off the out of focus elements better (show off that 1.8!). I like the use of black B&W along with the sharpness of the eye. Lighting is ok but the subject seams a bit dull and she blends in a bit with everything else. Perhaps some artificial lighting would have helped set off the skin tones a bit more. Impact is muted due to the lighting/lack of contrast in my opinion.
