D5000 close-up lens

My wife does genealogy as a hobby and I would like a suggestion on a lens for the D5000 for taking close-up pictures of book pages. I currently just have the basic kit lenses, 18-55mm and 55-200mm, and find that they don't give me the pictures I want. Thank you, in advance, for any suggestions.

Thanks

The AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G Is inexpensive and will do a good job for what you want.

I have been working on my genealogy for 30 years now. Kuykendall / Neuffer Genealogy

I 2nd the 35mm 1.8g on a tripod

Will this lens focus close enough to get full frame on a 2x3 photo? In genealogy this comes up a lot. I have many photos I gave come across while on the field and need to get a copy there since the people won't let me carry them home to scan them

Breaking from the others. I suggest the 40mm Macro. You can focus to within a couple inches or many feet. The 35mm is a great lens but it's not a macro up close lens. I have both.

35mm is ~$200
40mm is ~$270

Thanks, Moab Man. Based on the fact that he uses this lens for the exact purpose I have in mind, I am going to go with Don Kuykendall's (and yours) suggestion and try the 40mm Nikkor lens.
