Mating

Flies are probably the most hated creatures on the planet after politicians and yet they make great subjects for photography, if you can get one to stay still long enough while you focus on it. This is a photo I took earlier today and shows two flies in the process of mating. It has been cropped and lightened (using level adjustment), otherwise as shot. The background is light stucco hence the bleached colouring. Apart from everyone's distaste for the subject, I would like your views on the photo. Many thanks in advance.

Now please remind me who it was who said "When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at ...change"?

If it's out in the open you can shoot it. That is the way I look at things. I love taking shots of insects. This couple wasn't moving. I began to think they had died on the job. I can now reveal that they are alive and well and there are several hundred babies on the way. :chargrined:

PS "Porn on the fly" has a much more sophisticated sound to it.

I was watching these two wandering around together and followed them. I thought they would have gone into the privacy of the hollow log. Seems like they are exhibitionists!!

Aside from all the fly porn comments. For me, the background is a little bright, almost strains the eyes, maybe warm it up a bit so the stucco takes on a more natural light brown color.
