135 prime

Any rumors of a Nikkor 135 1.8g? I seen the 105 macro 2.8 but I just know as soon as I pull the trigger a 135 will be announced. Are there any other logical upgrades to my 85g to get little more range outside of the macro? Would rather have 85 to 135 than 105.

I'm a little confuse if you are talking about macro or portrait lens. If we are talking about 135mm as a portrait lens, the Nikon 135mm f2 DC is already available for $1,299. Is that within your price range? If the new 135mm f1.8G VR patent becomes a reality, it could be within that price range or even more.

I believe that patent has been out for about 1-2 years. It makes sense to continue the spectacular 1.8g lens line and that is a classic focal lentgh ripe for replacement. An 18/20mm 1.8g patent was filed at the same time. Nikon loves to keep us guessing!!

Yeah. I like the g series primes. And I feel like something in the 135ish range would work wonders indoors at the basketball games and wrestling matches for me at least. I was thinking about picking up the 105 macro but I just got this feeling to wait.

I could see myself walking around with a 35 85 and 135 and be perfectly content.

I really liked the 85, but sold it as the 105 is much more versatile and the 70-200 f4 covered my wider portrait needs. The 135 would have stellar bokeh!

I have an ai 135mm prime, but I haven't used it much yet. Been too busy with my 105mm micro and my 200mm primes lately. But I've mostly been after macro shot though. :D
