I've owned a D5000 for a few years now. However, I really haven't used the camera all that much, but I do have a lot of gear for it.

Things have changed, my wife and I have had 2 beautiful little girls, and she has tasked me with ensuring "we" know how to take good pictures to document their different stages of growing up.

I'm looking forward to figuring out the world of the DSLR.

Welcome...You tube and your manual are GREAT tools....

Thanks Alan,

I've taken a class or two and done a ton of YouTube watching, so I understand the exposure triangle deal. Next step up is mastering the flash. I'll probably be doing a lot of indoor stuff with the kids.

We have similar stories. Welcome :)

Tap'n on the Galaxy S3

Joe,

I see the handle "carguy". I used to be a motorcycle guy until the kids arrived. Now, I'm actually recovering from a motorcycle wreck.

So its giving me plenty of time to research. Unfortunately, I'm not back up and walking just yet, so I'm not able to get outside to do any shooting wroth value. Hopefully by the end of the month, I'll be back up on my feet.
