Yes you read that title right! According to the August 2013 German language Foto Magazin, the V2 pretty much kicks every other camera's. . . butt. Interesting discussion thread here. The V2 and V1 are virtually identical in this regard.

Summary of AF tracking accuracy results:

1st: Nikon 1 V2 91%
2nd: D4 72%
3rd: 1Dx 71%
4th: 7D 63%
5th: G6 57%
6th: NX300 56%
7th: K-5II 48%
8th: D7100 47%
9th: EM5: 38%
10th: A99 33%
11th: Nex-6 32%
12th: A77 9%

Yes but.................................The D4 Kick the V's butt in just about everything else :) :) - The V's are why Nikon's profits are sooooooooooooo bad. In fact Nikon is Re Thinking the whole mirrorless mess.

A Yugo is easier to park than a Rolls Royce Phantom, but I don't expect to see anyone trading!

I have to partially disagree with you. . . one of the main reasons Nikon's profits suck is that they are pitiful in inventory control. They are discounting one and two generation old "new" DSLRs (e.g. D3000, D3100, D5100, D7000) at a huge loss because they over estimated demand.

True enough. Quality control is the other biggie. They sold D600 knowing there was a problem - no recall, same for the first batch of D800 with the focus issue, the list goes on.

Remember folks, the Nikon 1 series is doing very well in Asia. They're having problems finding a niche for it in Europe and the USA. I think it's a marketing issue. Nikon needs to understand who they're marketing the system to, in the USA and Europe. Identify the market and make adjustments to accommodate those markets.

Something I have been wondering about with the D600 is if they are still building them and if the problem still exists in the new ones?

I read this & don't buy it. At the race track using both the V1 (not V2) & D7000 it is no contest. While the V1 is a great little camera the D7000 as far as AF & tracking goes bests it. The V1 is very good though. Not a scientific test, just my observations. :gorilla:
