The D3100 is one of Oprah's ultimate favorite things

I thought it was a bit funny that Nikon got a D3100 into the hands of Oprah, who named it one of her ultimate favorite things.

Now moms everywhere will have one in their hands come Christmas

I knew there must be something I like about Oprah...

My wifes cousin was there for the 2nd episode and got a 2012 VW Beatle

Wonder how much that cost Nikon...

I didn't see it but normally it is a trade for airtime and maybe some follow-on advertisement. You can buy quite a few of those cameras for a million dollars which is nothing in the big corporate advertisement budgets.

Exactly. They probably cost Nikon $500 each x 300 audience members = $150,000
Being on Ophra's "favorite list" = $$$$$$

The trade off is more then fair. Actually Nikon is getting a down right bargin.

A tax person came out during the advertisements and told them accounts were already setup to pay the taxes for this years gifts and next year when they get the car. Wifes cousin got an ipad, earings cookware and some little stuff plus the car.

For the record I checked and they had like 220 in the second show. The camera work made it look like more.
