Is there a setting on the camera that allows me to view my photos on either card without having to remove them?

Yes... which camera are you using? Push the checkerboard button on the left column, and you're presented with thumbnails... there should be icons for the two cards in the lower left corner... use the multi-wheel to select the card...

To switch between playback on the two different card slots it involves pressing the BKT button; I do not remember the entire sequence, but consult your owner's manual.
